Literature Text

Sitting in the church today
Rehearsing with the band,
I wondered how they would react,
To a sudden appearance of Pan.

First an utter silence,
Then some would dare to stand,
All would wonder at the presence,
Of the Wild One named Pan.

Then some of us would let out a shout,
And instruments in hand,
We would dance and play and dare to follow,
The footsteps of mighty Pan.

And I know many would hold back,
Making crosses with their hands,
Horrified at the one they call Devil,
The heathen God called Pan.

But their reluctance would not last,
The ones who dared holding out their hands,
And those in reluctance would finally join,
Those playing harmony to the pipes of Pan.

For who can help but follow,
(especially tied to music as the band)
Who could resist, despite reluctance,
The Wild One named Pan?
Ummm... The idea came to me earlier today, and the poem just kind of spewed out onto the page. I like it, though. It is odd and fun.

It was also inspired by :iconpaganpoets: weekly prompt: reluctance.

Enjoy! (if you dare!)
